Magnetise at UX conferences

Magnetise at UX conferences

It will be an interesting month for Magnetise. You can meet us on two large conferences in Poland.

At 12th April 2013 on 4Developers (User Experience / Usability path) we will be talking about killer products, persuasion and designing products and services that people just love. This conference is also close to our hearts, because Magnetise is in Program Committee.

At 17-18th April 2013 on UX Poland (the biggest UX conference in Poland) we will be talking together with UX Designer from Nokaut about designing mobile app Nokaut24 for Windows 8 UI. Here is a short abstract of our presentation:

Designing mobile app for iOS or Android isn’t something new and mistic these days. Every good company know how to build it. But believe us or not, designing for Windows 8 UI is a new concept for UX designer. And it isn’t as easy as it seems. Really! Especially when you do it for the first time in your live and you have only 14 days for this!

We managed to do this task, that’s why we would like to share our experience with you and tell you a little story. A story about putting first steps in unknown land. How to use touch and gestures. Where our heroes found tricky traps and what Microsoft doesn’t tell you… officially. Go with us on a journey to meet a new adventure.

The power of our behaviors

The power of our behaviors

Have you ever wondered about the power of our human behaviors? How much are they embedded in our daily lives and do designers have power to use this behaviors for human purpose? Today’s article in UX Booth is trying to bring up the discussion about it.

Designing applications to encourage a certain kind of behavior (especially with regards to health) is a rapidly emerging subfield of interaction design. Best practices are constantly evolving. With such a wide range of proven applications – from fitness monitoring wristbands to doctor-patient communication tools – the field is a great source of both inspiration as well as design strategies

Who’s your most important customer?

Who’s your most important customer?

In manager’s work there are many things that should be in the area of your interest: company business, people, workflow, quality, competitiveness etc. The limitation of the area of your influence is directly proportional to your time and knowledge. Only on your decision depends on what you’ll be focusing on in your work.

When I’ve worked as manager in different companies, I’ve always tried to put in the middle of my attention the people with I was working (my team). I don’t know what is better than watching how your team members are spreading their wings when you create the conditions for them to do it. And then the magic is happening. Your team is becoming more involved in their work. The quality of the work is better, more detailed and more innovative. You (as the manager) give them (your team) the purpose and the tools to develop their self’s. You are giving them the reason.

In this sense, I can say I’ve treated them as my customers, because they where for me as important as the customers are important for your business. That’s my story.

So, now ask yourself: Do you thinking often about your employees? Do you give them the purpose to growth?

E-commerce is going for mobile? Or is it not?

E-commerce is going for mobile? Or is it not?

Recently Kissmetric Blog showed infographic about mobile in e-commerce. It’s quite interesting how our behavior is evolving with time. Yesterday we’re going to town to find some goods to buy. Now we can find them on computer and mobile devices and as the data shows, we’re doing it more often. But are we buying this goods over mobile? Consuming information is an interesting process but for a happy business owner its missing one important component conversion. That’s a one of the key value in e-commerce. So, are you buing or only watching?
